Welcome to St. Simons Island and the Georgia Golden Isles!

Beaches
St. Simons Island has glorious beaches that can stretch out for hundreds of yards at low tide.  Coast Cottages is located at the largest part of the St. Simons beaches, just south of East Beach and the old Coast Guard Station.  This is the finest beach on the island. Our high tide has ample beach for body surfing and our low tide expands the beach to couple of hundred yards wide.

Golf
If not for the beach, golf would be king on St. Simons Island and the surrounding area.  St. Simons Island is home to three golf clubs on the Island and 234 holes of golf in the immediate area.

Bicycles
This is one of our favorite family activities.  Paved trails take you from Coast Cottages to the center of town or to the pier.  Some homes have bicycles, but additional bikes can be rented five minutes by foot from Coast Cottages at Ocean Motion or in town at Monkey Wrench.  Visit www.oceanmotion.biz or call Monkey Wrench at 912.634.5551.

Dining
St. Simons Islands has many wonderful places for seafood, casual and fine dining, but our favorite fine dining restaurant on the island is Halyards. Halyards, winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, can be found online at www.halyardsrestaurant.com.

Fishing
You can get your rod and bait at St. Simons Bait and Tackle near the pier – a five minute ride from Atlantus – and drop line at the pier or you can charter a boat with Captain Richie Lott for in shore or off shore fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Redfish, Sea Bass, Whiting, Flounder, Tarpon, Shark and King Mackerel. We highly recommend Captain Lott at Coastal Island Fishing, located at Golden Isles Marina, as the best fishing guide on St. Simons Island. For more information, visit Captain Lott at www.charterfish.com.

Sailboats
On the beach, under the gold umbrella, just a three-minute walk from Atlantus, Barry’s Beach Service rents catamarans, sailboats, kayaks, boogie boards and windsurfing boards. Sailboat rides and lessons are also available.   Visit www.oceanmotion.biz for more information.

Fort Frederica, St. Simons Lighthouse and Christ Church
Built in 1736, 1807 (initially) and the 1700s, respectively, these island treasures provide an historical perspective of colonial and Civil War era Georgia.

... And of course there are trolley tours, ghost tours, dolphin tours, canoeing, kayaking and much more to do on St. Simons Island!
